Bacon Bros. Public House Announces Sugar Land Location

Bacon Bros. Public House to Open Sugar Land Location in December

SUGAR LAND (October 19, 2016) – Bacon Bros. Public House, Greenville South Carolina’s inventive gastropub, is excited to announce they will be expanding their reach with a new location in Sugar Land, Texas. Established in 2012, Bacon Bros. Public house is features an innovative, locally-sourced, chef-driven menu. With Chef Anthony Gray at the helm, Bacon Bros. offers a selection of local, farm -fresh small plates and entrees, as well as a dynamic bar program. Many menu items are cured on site and guests can see the process first-hand through a viewing window that looks into the curing chamber. Bacon Bros. has a warm and rustic atmosphere that creates a relaxed dining experience where guests can enjoy quality food and craft beverages. The new location will bring the same award- winning cuisine and ambiance to Sugar Land and will be housed in the Sugar Land Town Square at 2110 Town Square Place. The partner in the venture, Travis Cook, is a Texas native and excited to bring Bacon Bros. Public House further south.

“I became a fan of Bacon Bros. through frequently traveling to South Carolina for work and I always made sure to start and end my trip at Bacon Bros.,” shared Cook. “I quickly realized that Bacon Bros. was something I wanted to bring home to Texas and I look forward to the community enjoying the same fare I have come to love.”

Construction has already begun and the new location is slated to open in early December. Chef Joseph Zerwas will be joining the partnership location as Chef du Cuisine. Zerwas comes from nearby Houston and has vast experience in the industry and has received various awards from publications such as Eater, Thrillist and Knot Magazine.

Travic Cook – Partner & Owner

Travis Cook is the owner of the Bacon Bros. Public House – Sugar Land location. Born and raised in Cypress, Texas, Cook first discovered his culinary interest in high school and began hosting dinners and cooking competitions at his parents’ home. Cook graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in finance and worked for several years in banking in downtown Houston. After burning out on the corporate lifestyle, Cook left to work in the for an investment group that held several small businesses. One of these businesses was a small chain of hotels in North Carolina. For work, Cook flew in and out of the Greenville, South Carolina airport – right near where Bacon Bros. Public House is located. Bacon Bros. Public House quickly became a staple for Cook and his coworkers, beginning and ending all of their trips at American gastropub. Throughout Cook’s time working with the investment firm, he took advantage of his flexible schedule to engage in his passion and took several classes at the Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley. Cook also took time to pursue an extensive self-education in food and restaurants. Upon discovering Bacon Bros. Public House was franchising, Cook decided to give them a call

Chef Joseph Zerwas

Chef Joseph Zerwas is the Chef de Cuisine at Bacon Bros. Public House’s Sugar Land location. Chef Zerwas has a true passion for bacon and began his career in the catering world. Zerwas quickly mastered catering large scale events and weddings. Through his catering experience, one ingredient always stood out – bacon. Zerwas started a business called Bourbon & Bacon that specialized in bourbon infused cocktails paired with pork inspired appetizers. Bacon has always been a passion for Zerwas, so when he was offered the opportunity to meet Travis and the Bacon Bros. team, he knew that they were a band of brothers that he belonged with.
