Marriott Town Square Hotel Named Tops in Texas

SUGAR LAND MARRIOTT TOWN SQUARE HOTEL NAMED TOPS IN TEXAS, ONE OF WORLD’S BEST FOR GUEST SATISFACTION

SUGAR LAND, TX (March 26, 2015) – Sugar Land Marriott Town Square has earned top honors from the Marriott brand, earning a ranking  as the brand’s top full service Marriott hotel in Texas, third in the United States and fifth among Marriott’s 358 hotels worldwide in overall guest satisfaction.

The prestigious ranking was based on thousands of guest satisfaction surveys completed in 2014 by guests of Sugar Land Marriott Town Square.  Guests ranked the hotel in check-in/-check out efficiency, cleanliness of room, courtesy of housekeeping staff, decór, food and beverage and overall experience, among a number of categories.

“When it comes to our guests, we’re all about a culture of ‘yes,’” says Jeffrey Obomeghie, general manager of the 300-room Sugar Land Marriott Town Square.

The hotel also received a 2014 Excellence in Quality  Award from Remington Hotels, which manages the property.  In addition, seven of the hotel’s associates were honored in 2014 with Marriott Spirit to Serve Awards, recognizing those who carry out exceptional guest service.

“We make it a point to go above and beyond what the guest expects,” he adds.  “Very simply, at our hotel the ‘unexpected’ is the ‘expected.’”

The award-winning hotel, situated in the heart of the vibrant Sugar Land Town Square at U.S. 59 and Highway 6, also completed a property-wide renovation in 2014, creating a sophisticated, new look for its guestrooms, meeting and event spaces, lobby and public corridors.

The landmark property is popular with groups, individual business travelers and weekend leisure guests attending weddings and special events, according to Obomeghie, who says guests enjoy the hotel’s location within the shopping, dining and entertainment venues of Sugar Land Town Square.

“Once they arrive, guests never have to get back in their car,” he says.  “They love having everything right outside our door.”

Looking forward, Obomeghie anticipates concerts at Sugar Land’s new performing arts center, about two miles from the hotel, will be a big draw for the area.  He says the hotel will provide registered guests with complimentary, on-demand transportation to the music venue as part of its free transportation within five miles of the property.

Sugar Land Marriott Town Square offers 26,500 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, the three-meal Burning Pear restaurant presenting regional Texas cuisine, a Starbucks Coffee House with grab-and-go items, two concierge levels, 24-hour fitness center and heated, outdoor pool.  It also is an EarthPact Green Hotel, committed to sustainable, eco-friendly hotel practices.

Guests of the hotel also can earn and redeem points with Marriott Rewards, ranked highest among hotel loyalty/rewards programs according to the inaugural J.D. Power 2014 Hotel Loyalty/Rewards Program Satisfaction Report.
